Documentaries and Films

  • Throughout the day, throughout the Bay
    Film:
    Bowling for Columbine
    Showtimes

  • Documentary:
    The Trials of Henry Kissinger
    Showtimes

  • Documentary:
Power and Terror: Noam Chomsky in our Times
Starring Noam Chomsky with Barbara Lubin

The most important aspect of this film is the message of courage and optimism Chomsky gives to our efforts to date. Go see it and get your well deserved pat on the back. Especially exciting for me were the scenes of Palo Alto and Berkeley Community Theater and our own Barbara Lubin while I was sitting in the Film Forum in Greenwich Village.

  • Film:
    Ararat

Atom Egoyan has done it again. From the writer/director of "The Sweet Hereafter" -- a quietly devastating film about a tragic school bus accident and the resulting corruption of lawyers and insurance companies -- comes Ararat, a film about the Armenian Holocaust as told through art historians, descendants, artists, custom officers, actors and directors concentric to the making of a film about the artists Gorky and the Red Cross Doctor who both witnessed the Armnenian Holocaust in 1915. Egoyan writes the powerful soundtrack, some of which is recorded in an ancient chapel in Armenia that figures into the plot.

  • Film:
    Rabbit Proof Fence

Fascinating true story of more British inhumanity toward man. Peter Gabriel soundtrack.

  • Film:
    The Quiet American
    Opening in February

  • Documentary:
    Massoud the Afghan

  • Documentary:
    Daughter from Danang
